The day Paul McCartney created “Get Back” all by himself – and “out of thin air”; watch

A scene from the new documentary about The Beatles is one of the most popular.

The documentary Get Back is a true treasure trove for Beatles around the world: it contains more than eight hours of previously unreleased material, found by Peter Jackson during the recording sessions for Let It Be , the documentary about the last album released by the Fab Four.

Divided into three episodes on Disney+, the new documentary features scenes of the camaraderie and genius of the British musicians, but one of the most talked-about moments is that of Paul McCartney .

The scene shows the ex-Beatle creating the song "Get Back" practically alone and "out of nowhere," as many internet users said on social media. Ringo Starr and George Harrison were present in the studio at the moment of Macca's sudden inspiration, but they didn't show enthusiasm at first.

The creation of the song's structure can be summarized in just over two minutes. Even without lyrics, Macca quickly created the melody and instrumental base of the song, later joined by his colleagues before it became a complete composition alongside John Lennon .

"Feeling the pressure of the album deadline, Paul searches for new musical ideas. What is about to emerge will become the next Beatles single," the caption explains.
